Other Cats of Belcanto

Ollivander

Ollivander was our pet long before the Exotics and Persians came to live with us! He was found in a parking lot in Connecticut as a small kitten. He had severe eye infections, and as the eyes were on the verge of rupturing, they had to be removed. I saw his little face on Pet Finders, and immediately knew he had to be my cat.

Ollivander helps keep track of all our kittens, and is wonderful at helping to socialize them and teach them manners!

Leontyne

Leontyne had a rough start in life. She was a pet to someone in the Middle East, but ended up discarded on the streets. A wonderful rescue group in Egypt got her off the streets and treated her for severe wounds, emaciation and a tick infestation. When I first saw her on the rescue website, she was a skinny, dirty white cat.

After a fund raiser, Leontyne and a group of cats and dogs were flown to JFK from Egypt, where I was able to pick her up and bring her home. After a few weeks of food, treats and a lot of love, it became clear our skinny white cat was actually a beautiful Shirazi. Shirazi is the term for a Persian from the Middle East, where they are still bred to resemble their ancient ancestors.

Leontyne has been shown in the CFA Household Pets Class. She rules our house with an iron fist and makes sure everyone knows she is the real queen!

Lulu

Lulu came to our cattery as an adult. She is a Grand Champion in CFA, and the mother of my first home-bred Grand Champion, Sam. The minute I laid eyes on Lulu I just knew she was meant to be my cat. She is docile, calm and steady and loves everyone. She has the most gentle nature and was a wonderful mother. Lulu was spayed after one litter with us, and will live the rest of her life as our couch potato and bed warmer.

Lulu is a Silver Tabby Persian.
